Spoke to the farmer today as I wanted to pass on DW's thanks off the Admin, Moderators and more importantly the members and he said

'Let me stop you there'

He said that he wished to thank Detecting Wales for such a well run day and that he especially wanted to thank the members on the two days for being so polite and respectful of his land.
He said that anytime we wished to return we are more than welcome.

Thanks guys  Smiley

Great news Rob - he was a real gentleman and a pleasure to meet.

He ploughs all 160 acres on a three years cycle, so something new is ploughed every year. After 3 hammered sixpence, two hammered shillings and I am estimating another 13+ hammered coins along with 15+ milled silver, oh and Roman fibulas and coinage, plus 2 pieces of gold, that it is definitely worth a return visit after the plough has been back.

Well done for finding it mate - once again the research has paid off.

See you soon

i must say that i didnt find a hole that hadn't been filled in. So well done everyone.

It was such a pleasure to meet the new faces and a few old ones!

A huge thanks must go to Rob who spends a lot of his time finding land for DW, yet is unable to attend many rallies. Rob, thank you for all the behind the scenes work, it is truly appreciated.

Hope to see u on a few more rallies in 2014

cheers and thank you.

I have been on 4 detecting Wales rally's and can't say I have ever seen a hole not filled in .Just a thought but has anyone thought of putting out plastic bins for people's scrap on the day I always take mine off the fields but you can get a bit weighed down with horseshoes and plough shares .
