Detecting holiday In North Wales

(1/1)

garethj:
Hi ,

i will be on holiday in the hills above Bangor next week, and hope someone can help.
Is red Wharf Bay the best place to beach detect ? it looks like a decent beach but a fair size.
was thinking of trying the northern section.

Also are there any organised digs during the time I will be there ? ( weds 2nd April to Tuesday 8th April)

Any help / info gratefully appreciated.

Just a thought if anyone is willing to share their permission for a day I am more than willing to reciprocate with a few days detecting on my permissions for if they fancy detecting up in Fife. :)

Regards

gareth

Red Wharf Bay beach has shifting quick sands and people get stuck there on a regular basis so be very careful. Benllech beach might be a better option, safer and has a good number of tourists during the summer so hopefully more finds. Conwy Morfa beach is a good option as well, sands dunes next to it used to be used as a dump by the Victorians and you often get stuff washing onto the beach.
