Title: Re: Seal matrix Post by: Val Beechey on August 01, 2011, 02:57:13 PM Well done Benny, nice seal. have you tried pressing it into some blue tack.
It looks like an insect of some sort. Val Title: Re: Seal matrix Post by: The Doc on August 01, 2011, 04:56:30 PM How big is it benny?
I'm wondering if it's a button rather than a matrix, unless it's obviously too large Title: Re: Seal matrix Post by: Chef Geoff on August 02, 2011, 01:53:13 PM I have to agree with Peter, it looks like a classic 17th century button to me. Sorry :-[
Title: Re: Seal matrix Post by: benny on August 02, 2011, 05:58:09 PM Yeah,I agree its definately a button, just looked in Gordon Bailey's book"Buttons and fasteners".
Bit older than whats been suggested though as its described as a 14th century bronze button in the form of four petals. So not a matrix but I'm still quite pleased as I've never found a button this early. Thanks for everyones suggestions. |
