KenKelowna:
After reading some posts onthe Forum, I was prompted to include the following here:-
Its good to keep your machine in clean condition, (important) also clean under the scuff cover.
The Tesoro operators manual says after use, clean the detector with a soft cloth to remove any dust, moisture, or other contaminants.
It also says,Never spray lubricants such as WD40 or any types of cleaners, sealants or other chemical preperation on or into the detector.
Treat your detector as you would any sensitive electronic instrument.
With a Tesoro it could affect your warranty.

Your Sidewinder may be getting on, but it probably still works as new.
If it is not, your lifetime warranty will fix it. Just give Tesoro a call.
Tesoro no longer make the Sindewinder, and used ones sometimes come up on Forums and Ebay, however they dont last long. I checked around and cant find one currenly for sale. One sold this month (Feb) for $225 US, it took 5 days to sell.
You could always buy a new comparable model ( Cibola). $425US.
I strongly recomend bringing your Sidewinder up to scratch and keeping it.
Thanks for using Tesoro .
Ken
