Title: Enameled sixpence Post by: Alcohol on March 15, 2009, 09:56:36 AM Thought I'd share an unusual (for me anyway) find of an enameled sixpence - I've not had one of these before
This came from the mud on the site of an old WW1 training firing range on the Dee estuary a couple of years back. From a little quick research it turns out that 1887 was the main year of production for these items - see: http://www.worldcollectorsnet.com/magazine/issue10/iss10p6.html (http://www.worldcollectorsnet.com/magazine/issue10/iss10p6.html) for more info Allan Title: Re: Enameled sixpence Post by: hedgehog on March 15, 2009, 08:47:26 PM That's nice and thanks for putting the info up , it is interesting that they don't know how to do it any more , I would love an enamelled coin!
