Cheap sand scoop

Hi all,

Just saw this on E-bay sand scoop for £38 thats cheap wish I saw this abfore I bought mine,

i dont think these will last as long as stainless steel ,galv and salt water over time will rust , its a good cheaper alternative for an occasional beach detectorist ,but i think it's one of those items where you get what you pay for

You can get a Yellow Plastic one or the one that i have is a Blackada which i have used for over 10 years well worth the money

For those new to detecting and looking at these just remember that long handled scoops at made to be used while wading in the surf, they will be OK(ish) on bone dry sand too but on wet sand they are worse than useless so unless you mean to get in the water save your money and use a spade

the amount of effort required to dig it in and pull or push with handle is just too much unless built like Tarzan .ok if you are in 3 feet of water on a spanish beach and you want to tease out a coin or ring

as geoff said .ideal for wading but a pain in the rusty bullet hole on the wet sand and totally useless as soon as you hit an area of stones in wet sand.all over priced for what they are asswell.if you are determined to have one make one,
