I was at a beach that a lot of people on this forum say they have had bad luck at, I found coins a silver ring and a gold ring and I was quite happy oddly enough there was a 1903 penny on the surface , I guess some of the guys here look in the wrong places

Metal detecting is like a drug lol I can't wait until i can go out next I just love history and the fact you never know what you will find for instance earlier I found a 1937 penny in my garden and my house was made in the 60s, apparently my house was built on old farm land lol.

I bet that ring was a belter when it had all the stones in place. 

It's amazing what you can find in your garden, especially if you do some digging.  A couple of Time Team programs had members of the public digging trial pits in their gardens.  When you think about it all land has a history, some older than others, but it's there. Oldest thing I found when digging veggie plots was a fossilised fern leaf. It gets to the stage that every little rock has to be checked, just in case.  Sad or what. Roll Eyes

findin gold is better than drugs thats why i gave them up lol.what you have to remember is there is gold everywhere,most beaches people tell you are no good generally are o,k..lots of people search for gold on beaches and give up.i nearly did lol.

I just looked through all the stuff i found again today and it looks like i also found my first hammy! its extremely flat and made from copper its about 3 cm long and wide any ideas?
