Oops did I say gold.........I meant COLD lol  Grin  Roll Eyes

Me & Jo tried a new farm today in the Henllys Vale, nothing spectacular came out other than whats in the picture,  and a whole pocket full of ointment tubes  Undecided
Plenty of digging for 3hours until snow stopped play.

It was my 1st proper day out with Laser Hawkeye and I am very pleased with it's performance. Only thing is i kept having to dig up ointment tubes so i wasn't too impressed with that !!  Simon say's i have to get used to it though as everyone digs them.

Well done Simon & Jo - theres a few interesting finds there - the reeds from a harmonica for one. A large palm guard for leather working as well. The palm guards can be quite early but are impossible to date. The Romans were even using them to push needles through leather and stop themselves getting spiked by the needles.

well found - theres bound to be more to come from that site

Well done both on braving this weather and as said earlier those tubes are annoying but they give off such a good signal. I am curious though how the hell did you manage to dig lol ground is like iron up here

Thx for the info Neil & for everyone elses comments  Smiley  Ill get some better shots of the palm guard and post them.

The ground was surprisingly soft as the field we detected on had not been cut this year, and the recent snow had flattened all the grass insulating the ground beneath.

Is the item to the bottom left of the palm guard a harness mount?
