Title: bits n bobs
Post by: Andre on November 24, 2017, 10:20:09 PM
hi all, been on my permission yesterday and after battling with the wind and the rain and my wellies getting stuck in boggy soil,i managed to find this items. One of them looks like the back of old tweezers, the silver button is made of copper with silver on top
and that ornate chunk of copper,i have no idea. All came of about the same square meter...

Well done on getting out, not many have in the weather we’ve had lately.
The ‘old tweezers’ is a split pin. And the last pic looks like part of a key or handle plate.
That would have been a nice and expensive button when new. It’s always nice to find a thimble.
Thanks for posting.

Congratulations Andre on getting out...not a lot of fun these days with all the saturated fields...so 100% for your efforts....looks like a thimble with a nice bit of age attached !!
Thanks for posting..and good hunting..👍

Well done getting out and braving the weather Andre. I suppose, in theory, the saturated fields should improve the conductivity under the turf and assist our detectors in punching deeper to find those ever elusive targets.

What sort of depths were you recovering your targets from?

True mate, some of the targets my probe would disappear, about a foot?i’ve been over this areas before and surely missed these targets.i am using an elliptical coil but ordered a double d detech  ultimate 13” to attack the soil on a different angle, see what happens..,
