Save 55million pounds per day, regain control of our borders, regain control of our fishing grounds. Stop migrants from sending child benefit to their home countries.

Stop all these stupid regulations effecting most businesses.

Regain control.

Rebuild the manufacturing bases in this country ie ship building, aircraft, car, trains, just about everything has been undone. incl steel, mining.

When our prime minister has to ask permission of 26 heads of states of other supposed member states of the eu ffor their permission to make changes for the UK, surely everyone can see
who is in charge and it aint the British population.

Vote to come out and stand on our own feet.

Interested to hear what others feel about this referendum  Huh

Whilst I agree with most comments about coming out, were not the following lost because others produced these goods cheaper than we were able to?
Quote  Rebuild the manufacturing bases in this country ie ship building, aircraft, car, trains, just about everything has been undone. incl steel, mining. Unquote.
Maybe British unions constantly pushing, demanding and striking for non competitive wages by comparison to other parts of the world had something to do with our loss of industry as well?
Other than that---Yes. definitely lets get out. Bet things will be manipulated so we don't though.

Unemployment would go through the roof as many companies who have the European bases here would relocate to Europe to avoid the import duties that would come back in to play these same duties would cause an increase in 90% of electrical goods not to mention fruit and other food stuffs from abroad.
The manufacture of cars and aircraft is gone never to return no one has the investment necessary to start those type of companies from scratch and compete with overseas manufactures and I don't think you'll find many people queuing up to go back underground.
The "British population" has never been in charge of anything now or then we have always just been a means to an end.
People go on and on about immigration while the majority are either not effected in any way by it or have no contact with those same immigrants and without them I hate to say that some parts of the economy would come to a shuddering halt.
I find the greater underlying motivation for coming out is nationalism which in my eyes is one of the most abhorrent reasons there has ever been for anything, Great Britain hasn't been great since 1945 when countries around the world woke up to the fact that the white imperialists that had oppressed them and raped their countries for hundreds of years were mere mortals, there never was a "Good Old Days" though every age imagins there was but that's the beauty of nostalgia.
How to utilise Europe to get the best out of it yes, becoming isolationist no and look on the bright side it could be worse we could be part of America Grin

I'm Euro-ambivalent - there are some good things to come from it (like the working time directive and rights for temporary workers) but there are some other things that are bad - loss of control of our coastal waters one of them.

British manufacturing (I work in it) has had many problems - business (and government) likes to buy cheap - even if that means lower quality (and there is a lot of cheap Chinese steel on the market at the moment) - and in general UK manufacturing / engineering firms are good at development, but often sell at a loss - the place I used to work at (before we merged) was like that - fantastic equipment - no-one knew how much it cost, so we lost money. Current company knows the cost of everything, and won't go after jobs that just aren't worth it - consequence - turn over increasing at >25% per year, company making a nice profit and no redundancies for 6 years. Long may that continue.

I don't entirely agree with you Geoff - America's stated aim in the war was to destroy the British Empire - that certainly didn't help us with our greatness.

And - despite the current revisionist anti-imperial history we are fed with - many of the industries and infrastructure instituted by the Empire were good things - no nation has an entirely clean and moral history (I was watching the programme on the Opium Wars on the telly last night).

And we do have a very successful British car industry - it's just not making British cars or British owned.

Oh I agree that things came out of it that weren't entirely bad though whether that would have happened by a natural process we'll never know and yes we do have car factories but if duties came back then they wouldn't be here too long as the European market is far greater than the British one.

If any of you think that the right wing of the Tory party and the right wing press worry about the man in the street  you should think again. These people are the ones who have destroyed manufacturing in this country and replaced it with the financial services racket  which benefits only the few instead of the many ! They are afraid of   legislation from Europe that would curtail  their money making schemes which have brought us to our knees .If we leave Europe be prepared for more austerity and a privatised NHS  just to start with.

Hemm!! Great conversations on both sides of the coin...NOW !let's just forget the past, and concentrate More on the future.
I does seem that to me(just my opinion)that we are heading into a huge abyss!!
A distinct possibility of thermo nuclear war from rogue states with increasing nuclear capabilities.
We have a country which is slowly loosing its grip on law and order,an education system with teachers "assistants"  teaching,a National Health that's in total turmoil, with so called doctors being able to prescribe  medications, when they can't understand the basic English language, and as for law and order, well that's also in meltdown !!......SO,for me,yep! we come out of Europe and start rebuilding this great country of ours, sod the rest!! Let's get back to basic values, sod sending every bloody kid to university, let's build factory's,let's train up our kids with decent apprenticeship's,let's start producing our own top quality goods, let's start training our own Doctors, let's begin to teach our kids basic manners, and respect.....in essence, we are an island,we don't even need a Tunnel.
We can support ourselves, and the sooner we actually start to address these in house problems the better.
Finally, yes,its not going to be easy,in fact it will be quite difficult, but anything too easy isn't worthwhile anyway
We are ONE GREAT NATION,and we do not want any interference from any others,we can do this on our own !!!!......(rant over👍)

Hey Dungbeetle, privatisation of the National Health !!!
When I lived and worked in Spain, I had private medical .
And yesci had to pay, but I tell you what,it was worth every peseta/ Euro.
You go to doctor ,first time get medication, second visit,no change in your ailment,no repeat prescription, you get to see a specialist within a fortnight !
Paying for what you get, commands respect !!!👍

For me, I think if we are in, or we are out, nothing will change - we'll still have the same government (doesn't really matter which shade it is either).

Removing the middle-man - in whatever transaction - would have a much greater effect - every time we buy or sell something, there's someone trying to skim a bit of the value from it...
