Thats a good one Digga - I worked in Ibiza for quite sometime in 94 and not sure I eprsonally would want to go back.

Easy to answer for me Ephesus in Turkey. Only 10% of it has been excavated and it was at one time the largest and richest city in the World for a period of over 300 years. When I was just walking around it I managed to pick up the handle of an amphora just lieing there. It also held the largest library in Ancient times and the first museum. Not to mention its whore houses - I dread to think what is under the sand. I love the place and its an amazing city to visit.

Ooohhh! Too hot there Bob, most of eastern europe looks good , but Greece would have to be the one on a cloudy day of course. Over here it would have to be a couple of good farms in Norfolk. what a place for finds that is!

The fields around Caerleon barracks and ampitheatre. Not too far to go and Soooo much Roman potential. I get sunburnt too much for anywhere warm....Stick to Wales for me....maybe England...but even the South Coast is too bleedin hot for a ginge!

The Isles of Scilly but unfortunately all inland and beach sites are totally off limits

no detecting at all allowed  :( ???

I reckon the area around north africa and the middle east esp. the coastal desert regions
of israel etc....

I did read a story long ago about a guy who detected this area" a resident of the area"
he had everything from ancient to loads of militaria...PaulB.

Because the whole area has been designated a site of historical importance

I suppose thats fair enough Paul, but but, there are hundreds of wrecks all round the coast of cornwall. Hope they dont restrict tecting on cornish beaches !

dont know why but after watching planet earth the other day iwould love to go somewhere like africa where all the tribes lived/live. Just seems interesting to me.
imagine finding a ring or an ear piece which had been dropped by them over 300 years ago or something crazy like that. put your own cloud thoughts here.
