Title: Garrett AT pro pointer
Post by: fdefano on January 18, 2015, 03:46:37 PM
Hi all,
has anyone seen the new pinpointer from Garrett
apparently waterproof to 3 m and bright orange plus special homing in on target adjustment
some videos on youtube it looks quite good but will probably cost over a hundred squids
the Garrett AT pinpointer

Hi ,fdefano,On a purely personal view, unless you were or intending  to detect while snorkeling or something to the like I certainly wouldn't go to the extra expense of buying a Garrett's carrot, when the standard Garrett pro-pointer is more than capable  of doing a good job under most conditions.Save your money!!

I personally like the sound of it, especially after digging in waterlogged mud today and nearly losing my probe. Although as you said
it all depends on the price

Well it's being advertised in the States with a msrp of $150 which is basically £100 but the standard Pro-Pointer is more expensive over here than in the States only by a few pounds though so I'm thinking this will be around £110 ??? ;)

£45 more than the Makro which does the same job.......Ouch! Garrett are now playing catchup and I really can't see them selling these by the bucket load as they did with the Pro-Pointer :-\
