Fishing was my hobby. See the 33 pound cod in my prifile pic. Also collect postcards of Pontypool and surrounding area. Family history research (Interested in anyone with the surnames Wyatt, Kinnersley, Horlor and Nash mainly). I have a nasty habit of asking people their  surname early on in a converstaion which makes them think I am the police! I also have a vast collection of books dealing with the Anglo-Zulu war of 1879. You've all see the film!

I think you mean James Langley Dalton. Dalton was the real hero of the battle as most people agree that he was the man who really organised the defences. The character on  film really doesn't do him justice. He was a real macho man in real life. Not the rather wimpish character portrayed.

Died 7th. January 1887 in Port Elizabeth, South Africa. He is buried in the Russell Road Roman Catholic Cemetery with a memorial, Plot E.

Any more you want to know ? I am a bit of a walking encyclopedia on the subject.

I play music (guitar) when I’m not detecting or in uni.  I also teach guitar and write songs.  I used to play in several bands but I haven’t really got the time anymore.

Daltons  VC medal used to be on display at The Royal Logistics Corps Museum in Camberley, Surrey. Whether it still is I am not sure.

Jonola, when i lived in Herefordshire i lived next door to a parish called Kinnersley and now live next to a parish called Nash. My other hobbies are motocross and football and am a supporter of a club on the English banks of the Severn, opposite side from Cardiff. Enough said about them i think. I also research for local history groups and archaeologists  and have a fascination for old Mercedes campers. Life don,t get boring round here.  Smiley Smiley Smiley

My grandfathers family orginated in that very Parish of Kinnersley. Hence his family name. Small world isn't it?
