Hi mike
What machine do you use ? .A good multifrequency machine -one of the minelabs, explorer, etrac  or sovereign will give great depth s even with standard coils .

On a different subject I once Knew a Boy  called Michael Miles from Llangynwydd near Maesteg who at about the age of 12 found a hoard of gold coins (sovereigns I think) in a deserted mill near the Tylers Arms pub  in lower LLangynwydd - its a lucky name

Hi Mike
Could be a distant relative  Grin  .
The surfmaster is a great machine Ive got one along with a deepstar which is incredably deep .They are both pulse machines and on clean beaches they excell however Port Talbot is a dirty beach -years and years of dumping ,  iron slag  and alsorts was dumped when they flatened the dunes and built up the promenade it makes using pulse machines very difficult .I now use Minelabs because of the descrimination and I can cover a larger area without digging scrap and killing my back .If you do a lot of beaches then a 2nd hand minelab will save you a lot and make detecting much more pleasant . All the best Sandpiper

yeah mike its a pretty nice place to live  with a fare amount of history in the area. Ive been in the fields around the cemetry mate, but suprisingly not really found alot of stuff in them. The other fields just a little further up the road though have produced some lead shot ... old coins and various bits n bobs mate. The views are awesome too.
