I see the T2 is said to be useless on the beach. Does that mean the F75 is too
They are similar methinks.

Not necessarily. I've not used mine on the beach, but see here:

Oh I'm not doubting that it will work but it is a matter of degrees. The detector is only a tool and by analogy I could build furniture with a butter knife but it would be better to use a screwdriver.
If you intend to spend any great time beach detecting then the F75 is not the machine to choose.

I don't disagree Geoff. If your only detector is the F75 and you want to do some occasional beach detecting then at least it's worth having a go with it, but performance won't be anywhere near a dual or multi-frequency machine or a PI.

the f75 is difficult to use on the beach.....

ground balance=0
all metal mode as high as you can=90

dig targets above 16 and under 90

In VLF the First on the list would be the Minelab Sovereign, then probably  any Explorer or the Etrac and closely followed by the Safari. All of the above are multi frequency (analysing) machines. Then It would probably be the Whites machines and filters down from there.
But if you are looking for the best beach machine then you can pick up a Sovereign XS2-a or pro for about £300-£350 and for best results get a 12x15 SEF to stick on it and your away.

I have to add these are my views based on my experience but if you google these machines I think you will find the same or similar breakdown by many users.
