manage to get out for a few hours yesterday my second signal was lovely clipped hammy well happy so i thought the medi god was smiling down on me and the roman gods had done one i was wrong 3 grots and brooch and with my trusty expl2 under  my arm i went home happy (any more info hammy please)

Hammered is a Charles I halfgroat. Mintmark looks like (R), which makes it Tower Mint under Parliament, Spink 2833 (or 2849 in older Spinks).

I was there when Gav found that silver....
That was exciting enough.... but then....

A little later he got really excited for a while when he found another coin.... uttering "its gold... its gold!!"

I'll leave him to tell you all what it was.  Grin

(I came home with a couple of pieces of folded up lead, £1.25p in modern coins, and a really cruddy coin that is perhaps Roman)
