Out in Stroud today on Avalon's rally. Tough going but perserverance paid dividends, had a few usual buttons and pennies but my best three finds for the day were the following. A cracking little lead token came from the second hole of the day. Next find was this Gold watch, that right GOLD, back of the net !!!!!!!!! Grin closer inspection we could make out at 9ct, at 19.2 grams amounts to a few quid, well happy there. Late afternoon I came across this little pin brooch either La tenne or Colchester, my first of this type.
A great day, cheers Steve! Smiley

Well done Ceri, and a nice brooch as well! I believe it is a Colchester type, 1st century AD.

My own finds were not so good unfortunately, but still enjoyed the day.

Nice winkling Ceri, the brooch is a cracker not seen one quite that small before. I guess you realise that they take the guts out of the watch before valuing the gold? your 19.2g is a tad optimistic Wink

Well found Ceri, we did have a few Roman at the end of the day on that one little area. Next time we will try the pasture fields.
