managed to get out today tried out a new field not much to be found just a couple of viccy and edward pennies but i did find a nice little silver ingot about three inches down it,s quite heavy,don, t know the date yet.it was nice to get out again the weather was great

Depends on the style of the thistle, lion and date letter, but I would take a stab at either:

Edinburgh 1908 (if the date letter shield goes in at the sides)

OR

Edinburgh 1933 (If its a curly C in a flat sided shield)

OR

Edinburgh 1958 (if its a Gothic style C)


the Edinburgh mint stopped using the thistle in 1975 and changed to a rampant dragon as its mint mark, along with edinburgh castle motif.
