Title: Clothes Thingy
Post by: BottyBurp (Kris) on February 22, 2009, 05:19:27 PM
Is this known as a "Dress Fastener" or a "Clothes Hanger" please & am I right in saying that it's Tudor?

Also, does anyone know what exactly they were used for please?

Kris

Its a Tudor dress fastener. They were hooked across an item of clothing - say for example a waistcoat to a button hole opening basically.

Nice find Botty!
