Me and Ron spent yesterday on a new permission.  Not yet knowing the area we tried to stay near the 'big' house.  Our agreement allows us to search ploughed areas only, which is about 1000 acres.  So plenty to choose from.  The first field produced around 30 buttons, shotties and the usual tin and lead and the lovely pendant.  After lunch we had a drive around to get accustomed to the area for future reference and searched a field 'out in the sticks'.  Not many signals in this field, but it did produce the Roman coin and the florin for me.  More searching and research should keep the finds coming from what is a beautiful area.
ID please on the Roman coin and the pendant.
Happy Digging!!  Tom.

Hi Roughneck, great finds, just an idea on the last two photographs.
Could be a type of cleat used to keep the horses reigns togher when  driving  a chariot,or cart,as I said just a guess,be great if it was wouldn't it.
What sort of size is it,it might help others with its I D.
Well searched and saved ..👍

you can read CONSTANTINUS on the roman coin. This suggests its form the early to mid 4th century house of constantine dynasty.

you'd have to search for the reverse image to get a more precise date ... but to help you along i,ve narrowed it down to a 40 year period form around 310ad to 350ad.

Thanks everyone.  I think you are on the ball with the Roman coin Handyman, it's a nice one, in good condition.  And cheers DingDong it would be nice to know what the cleat was used for, I think it has got age, it is quite small at 32mm x 22mm and the holes are 9mm dia.
Happy Digging everyone!! Cheers,  Tom.

The last picture is the bow off an old key, possibly a barrel tap key. That medieval pendant is a lovely find. I'd be well chuffed with that.

Thanks Benny, now I can see where the key stem was attached. So I think you are correct in your assumption.

Yes thank you Roly.  Your description on our club forum is excellent.  It's just so nice to have forum members that can help identify finds.  Lots of ideas build up the bigger picture.  It's also surprising that I am learning so much more about our history than I ever did in school (a long time ago).
Thanks again.  Tom.

Anyway, here's what I wrote elsewhere Cheesy

The roman is this one (or similar):-

Constantine I AE Follis struck 323/4 AD. Laureate head right / SARMATIA DEVICTA, Victory advancing right  holding trophy and palm; bound captive seated right before; C in left field. Mintmark PLG double crescent..

Lyon mint.
