I think the xt50 is a more than capable machine so I would say yes but if in the back of your mind you think you will upgrade in the next year or so then no Undecided

Yes, it is Jed.  I use the 12" x 13" Nel on an X-terra 705.  It gives a lot more depth and coverage whilst retaining sensitivity.  I find it really good on the dry ground whether it be cut crop or ploughed / ploughed and rolled.  Also gives good clear signals on all types of pasture.  Great coil / set-up.  No good on the beach tho.

Have a look at this vid, may help you decide:-

XTerra NEL Tornado coil versus Minelab standard DD coil.

Dont be fooled into thinking your machine isnt up to the job. Recently me and my mate was on a field with the same detectors and similar coils, He found a hot spot and me a few yards to the left found almost nothing .Its just a case of the target being there and you walking over it.
The xt 50 is a capable machine. ......wait till you find a hammered before him and he will be questioning his setup.
Funny game this detecting

Hi Jed,
Join the club of the Diss-hearted Ha !  Its not your coil, or your detector !   I've spent a fortune of most of the better Detectors on the market.  At the moment I have a Deus.  I have been going on most of the Rally's for the past year and have yet, to find my first Roman. My mate like yours, has a C-scope which I sold him.  He finds more coins than me !!!! mainly because he sticks at it for longer .........Has more patience.  I get tired and go back to the car for a Coffee Ha!  Keep at it, slow down your swing speed and listen for the sweet notes.  Well that's what they tell me ....... lol
