Title: One for the military boffins..

first time out for quite some time and my colleague pulls up this lovely military badge .. can anyone ID it please?

in the meantime, i have to settle for a georgian ha'penny and a chef geoffs wobbler ;D ;D ;D

Very nice Alan. It's a badge of the Royal Irish Rifles, later called the Royal Ulster Rifles. Some info and stirring music here:

Grrrr gotty old bell who would want more than one anyway :D
Cap badge is as Peter say's but more likely from the Royal Ulster Rifles which was their name after 1921

thank you guys for helping with the ID. My detecting buddy today is new to the hobby and an ex military guy. He is well chuffed with his 1st ever military badge.
