Title: treasure items
Post by: Mike on November 04, 2011, 06:10:46 PM
if an item /s is declaired treasure the finder is entitled to the market value of the item/s thats good

i assume it then becomes crown property ?????

lots of posts on here say  things like museum appeal for funds etc to buy items to save them going overseas or into private collections

what happens if funds are not raised in time do these items just get auctioned off to the highest bidder ordoes the finder have the stuff returned to dispose of as he/she sees fit

bit confused as to the proccess , unfortunately i havent been down that road , YET , :( :(

If no museum can raise the funds, the find is disclaimed and returned to the finder.
