Title: Two Hammered's for ID
Post by: rjm on February 08, 2013, 01:20:57 PM
The difficult one first!  It was bent double and took a bit of straightening. Not sure if it was worth it! ;D

Nice finds Bob.

If the size is right, the first one looks like a Philip and Mary groat.

The second one is Edward IV, second reign, mintmark cross and four pellets, London mint. I assume it's a groat, then it's Spink 2096, if halfgroat it's Spink 2103.

Thanks Peter.  I'm amazed you got the Mary.....it was bent double and took several bouts of heating to straighten. I can't believe it was bent like it was through the plough.

The Henry is a groat.   :)
