Title: William and mary Post by: DEADLOCK on December 03, 2018, 09:42:22 PM Was out today in ross on wye and had this absolute smashing william and mary copper coin.
Also a very little roman brooch. Title: Re: William and mary Post by: Val Beechey on December 04, 2018, 09:17:24 AM Your not wrong there Al. It’s a smasher, best I’ve seen.
2 questions, what is it ? & what’s going on with the date ? The date looks like 169+. Did they only have one dye to cover the whole decade ? Wired or what ! Title: Re: William and mary Post by: paulpop on December 04, 2018, 09:44:55 AM Its 1694 , thats the only date they made William and Mary farthings
Title: Re: William and mary Post by: DEADLOCK on December 04, 2018, 10:03:28 AM Yes 1694 farthing unbelievable condition the best I've found
Title: Re: William and mary Post by: Val Beechey on December 04, 2018, 04:23:54 PM Thanks for the info. fellas. We live and learn. ;D
Still the best W & M copper I’ve seen on here 👍 Title: Re: William and mary Post by: probono on December 04, 2018, 05:13:06 PM I love finding these. I've got one area of a field on a permission that only produces 17th century coinage - most of it halfpennies and farthings of William and William and Mary. Much better than the later Georgies (although I like finding cartwheels too :) ).
Nice example :) Title: Re: William and mary Post by: DEADLOCK on December 04, 2018, 05:25:10 PM Always good to find tjou.
