hi all im andrew from pembrokeshire.been detecting about 2 years now.are the south facing fields the best to search and do they have to be potatoe fields etc.thankyou for any help

welcome to the site, musket ball. All fields are worth searching, but to identify good sites, you need to do a lot of researching.

make sure that you have either ncmd, or fid insurance

What detector are you using and what are your interests
Beach or land
If you are from Pembs maybe you should check out Pembrokeshire prospectors
They are a good club with good expeirenced members
Also regular digs locally
