Carpe diem quam minimum credula postero

« on: October 04, 2013, 12:23:24 AM »

Found this yesterday in between showers on my roman field, next to a spring.

The reverse flan is off centre so most of the mint info is off it but there's an "M" at the end of it so I think its a Durham mint, with the crozier on the end of the long cross before CIVITAS.

Still not sure which Edward though, could be either 1 or 11 but again the cross above the head is pretty much not there, and the crown is pretty crude, but it looks like a big W in EDWART.

Actually now I have looked at the blown up photo, the crown is bifolate and theres no E on the end of durham so it must be an Edward 11

See what you think.

Eric
