What does a Minelab service entail?

Do they replace anything or do they just give it a quick once over.

A check and a clean is all they do for a service. If they replaced everything it would cost you hundreds.

Having purchased a 2nd hand Minelab, I would too be interested in a 'service'

Had a service on my Explorer XS a while back and Minelab changed the camlocks (at my request) and the foam handle grip. Hope that helps.

As I recall a friend sent his Minelab for service as it was faulty but they sent it back unrepaired as they
do not repair machines over 10 years old. I don't know if this has changed?

Where are they sent now as hasn't the Irish 'base' closed down?

It was an urban myth Bob, they never stopped servicing them but the rumour went around. Ireland still do the servicing and distribution, but no longer any manufacturing.

The irish base is still up and running and providing a comprehensive range of services, including repairs.

i just had a control box returned from their base, on wednesday of last week, it worked perfectly this past w/e.

There seems to be an awful lot of Minelab machines needing repair or servicing!  Grin

Users must be dropping them due to the weight.  Cheesy
