I hate to say it but It's another nice plant in the wrong place.  Taken a pici of mine, attached, just look at the size of the blooming thing. It's New Zealand Flax. When I bought mine the label said....height 120 cm  what a joke. It's at least 6ft.  with a spread about the same.
If you don't want to loose the view out of the window, it'll have to go Joel.

I've got one of these too - but I do know what it is Smiley

Mine is floweing this year too (although it has flowered before). I like them myself and go nicely with Yuccas and the like.
