How are the returns with Detecnicks ? My garrett probe playing up now and was wondering how the returns are with this company ? So they send off for repair or fix themselves or send you a new one ?

I know regtons sends new ones but don't know about Detecnicks

Well anything Regton do Laura will do hell of a lot better lol But of course Regton import Garrett so they have the ability to replace, I think the question would be how long have you had it, that will be the deciding factor on whether it will be replaced or repaired.

Well I doubt you'll get a new one, but there again it could be one of those things that are cheaper to replace than repair. I think as Regton are Garrett UK so to speak, Detecnicks will send it back to them and it would be there decision on what to do. If they do replace it let us know and we'll all break ours when they get 11 months old lol

It may be worth your while as long as you have your receipt, otherwise ask Laura

Hi Zeus-my Garrett probe played up two weeks ago.It was 15 months old,no receipt, no guarantee and the company I bought it from had ceased trading.Really fed up.
Phoned Regton's as I knew they were the main importer and they said- Send it in with a covering letter and my phone number and they would take a look at it and let me know.
I had a new probe by return of post. I'm absolutely delighted. Can't praise Regton's enough. Smiley

hi joel,
what do you mean by playing up??
my pinpointer is having a funny 5 mins also?
beeps when it wants to in the holes and sometimes i knock it on and knocks off on its own?
mines only 3 months old so there maybee a fault with certain pinpinters.
gonna return mine to hidden history while the snow is about and hopefully have it back sorted when the ground softens abit

some times it is simple, a low battery, try a fully charged one may save the cost of the postage and the time wasted sending it in .

It may well be okay!

I suggest only using a top quality alkaline battery such as Duracell.

Don't tighten the screw battery top too tight as it forces the workings down and causes the tip to
malfunction. Just unscrew slightly and it should be okay.

Some batteries are slightly different sizes and also swell so this sometimes accounts for the
problem.

I have two Garrett Probes and they have both 'played' up but, after doing the above they are
now working fine.

i always  fully charge my batteries in my propointer for every trip.
they are the energizer rechargable 9v batteries and i just noticed they have a black plastic type case around them and are slightly bigger that the other 9v batteries i have so i will try loostening the cap a tad and see how that goes.
what batteries are you using in your joel?
