well if you were 2 milermeters tall you would drown which is a bad thing , however if you were 6 milermeters tall you would survive which is a good thing , a further however ..........the average human is approximately 1750 milemeters tall so dont worry you should be ok  Smiley Smiley Smiley unless of course your an ant , then you would be in deep s#'t , and water  Wink Wink

Excellently explained Mike, that is sure to put peoples' minds at ease  Wink  Cheesy

I must admit the ant situation is a worry though... Undecided

Anyhow, good luck to all attending the rally and I look forward to the rally report and seeing your finds  Wink

I too am now very concerned over the safety of ants, so much so that although I should be making headphones, I have spent hours developing a "dry suit" for ants. This has been a little tricky as the sowing in of six sleeves really strains the eyes.
The suits are fur lined to protect from hypothermia, in fact I've used Bee skins. This unfortunately has depleted my supply of pea cosies, meaning that next time the door bell rings when I'm eating my tea (containing peas) there is a danger of cold food Undecided

I think this is bang out of order guys! Why should ants come before peas?

In view of the Weather Forecast (possible)  for Sunday are there any plans in place for a transfer date ??

Prolonged heavy rain and Gail Force winds are not detecting conditions for the sane never mind the insane. Shocked

Not sure where you are getting "prolonged heavy rain and gale force winds" from Val. You been speaking to Michael Fish? Grin

Just checked on the BBC Weather site and for Gileston on Sunday its generally intermittent rain showers - no mention of gale force winds.

Unfortunately this is our only window to revisit this land.

I watched the weather forecast this morning Neil. It bears no resemlance to the 'On-Line' prediction.
So who Knows. Even they don't seem convinced.

Below is Geoff's BBC forecast.

I believe the field is to be ploughed and rolled, so even if just wet, it can be an absolute 'sod' (excuse the pun) with mud sticking to wellies, spade and detector.

The proposed change to Saturday may be a better bet.

I'm not sure about others but I detest detecting in rain and mud. It just isn't enjoyable!

Weather Forecast

Yellow Alert of Rain23 Sep 2012, 06:00
Issued at - 21 Sep 2012, 12:28
Valid from - 23 Sep 2012, 06:00
Valid to - 23 Sep 2012, 23:59

Wet and windy weather is expected to move north into some southern areas of England and Wales during Sunday. The public should be aware that heavy and persistent rain may cause localised flooding and also that strong easterly winds could also cause some disruption, particularly near English Channel coasts.
