well caerloeon no.2 rally was a BLAST......well nearly.
the bomb squad saw fit not to blow up an upside down animal feeder that was found in the first field. shame really because there were quite a few guys waiting to search the spoil from what they thought was going to be a huge crater. when it became clear that we'd have to do our own digging most of us moved on to the fields.
alas my finds were limited to a musket ball, dandy button and what looked like a viccy penny but was badly corroded.
well done to tafflaff for finding the farm all the same.
mental note for geoff and neil can you please bring a more convincing bomb for the next rally and save us some digging....... Wink
another rally with a great atmosphere dispite the finds.
thanks all

I would like to echo the post of Zorro(Kev). Many thanks for organising an interesting days detecting. It went a bomb...nearly. I thought I was onto something when I had a bit of oyster shell in one of my excavations but alas the signal was from a buckle that definitely wasnt Roman. Many thanks to the organisers for their efforts and I look forward to the next rally.

The "bomb" was the best find. The day was a "blast" and I'll take some "Flak" from the mrs for not finding anything after "Shelling" out a "Bomb" on the detector.

You've got a funny camera Rob! Why do I look like a dwarf and Neil look like a giant? It must be perspective.  Grin Grin
