Title: can anyone help with this please!
Post by: monkeymad on September 11, 2014, 06:05:54 PM
Found this today as I went for a couple of hours on that small roman patch I hadon Tuesday. Bear in mind nothing modern has come out of it and this was 12+ inches deep under a large tree root so must have been there for some time. I did have a couple of grotty romans well worn and a very oddly made whorl and three normal ones again.
It's bronze and certainly looks the part. I wandered some kind of strap holder, end or something.

Superb finds Danny
A few of us are concerned that while you are at the rally unscrupulous persons may stumble on your site so we are offering a daily inspection for its safe keeping.
You must remember that there is no evil intention here, just what real mates are prepared to do for you.
Please send co-ordinates by return
Bill ;) :D :D :D ;D

Now thats a bit special!

I would strongly suggest that you purchase this book. I've got it and its an excellent reference book. Judging by that find, I got the feeling you may need it!

Well done
Neil

Nice one - it fits well with the republican denarius - generally the earlier coins are associated with military sites.
