It was a chilly start but a great location.

Just a quick email to say what a great rally it was on sunday, first rally for about a year, mainly due to going self employed, knew it was going to be a good day when I turned up at the lay-by and got abuse from a bunch of fellow detectorists as soon as I got out of the van....you guys should be on the stage not hanging around laybys on a cold sunday morning dressed in army surplus telling jokes.

Found very little during the day apart from lead, the odd horse brass and half a horse shoe but thats not the point, where else can you go on a sunday morning and meet a great bunch of people who talk to you as a long lost friend, share stories from the war and offer you help to improve your find rate....

One thing I learnt early on Sunday was how much I have missed getting out digging holes and looking for that next find to add to the glass cabinet.

Had a chat with the farmer on the way back to the van, told him how much it was appreciated that we had the offer to use his land, in conversation he said he couldn’t understand why nobody was at the top field looking, as this was where the “roman look out post” was located.....I think he forgot to tell us about this in the morning..... maybe next time, anyway what a day and a great guy.

Looking forward to the next one and many thanks to Neal for organizing the event
