One of many different versions of a pointed lead alloy tips of something. I saw another two of these and a different version with 3 or 4 tangs on them. They look like arrow tips to me but if some one knows different please could you tell us. Period unknown.

apart from a penknife that i found i had a small buttton from the spud feilds, the one nearest the top road...

had to leave a couple of hours early though but hopefully will be able to do another one soon..

Neil took so many Photos , his camera batteries gave up the ghost. Heres some I took of the members and the last of the days hammies and finds.

Cracking Rally really enjoyed the company, I must say everyone carried themselves impeccably, went only where they should have gone , filled their holes without mess took their rubbish away.

As I've said in the past the organisers can provide the land and set up the rallies - BUT... its the members that attend that make the rally a success.

Well done all again and thanks NFL  a.k.a  Paulywow for the heads up on the land.

That's interesting NFL - that leafy looking thing top middle - I think I must have found the other half or it's pair.  I was wondering what it was?

Also I would like to claim the late 1600 buckle - last picture of Neil's that one's mine.  Smiley

No coins for me though, but as well as the leafy thing (like NFL's pic) and the late 1600's buckle, I also found a very old looking lead weight or token (has a hold through the middle) and what can only be described as a machined metal party popper - a weird looking thing. Will try and post some pics.

Nice going all who found something and hope it was a good day anyway for  those who didn't, great write up as always Neil.
The Vicky Florin is a "Gothic" and not a "Godless" and the stylus and pointy lead things are probably pencils (go on try them they work  Grin) that's what most turn out to be.

What a great day , alought i found nothing of significance , it was great to get back in the swing of things ( no pun intended ), and to meet so many familiar faces and be welcomed back into the fold,

Thanks to all organisers ,. you know who you are , and to Paulywow for the land , looking forward to the next rally , see you all soon.

Typical DW rally. great location, great finds and great friends, and the weather was pretty good too (don't know how Neil and geoff arrange that ??)
here's the best of my finds.
firstly a 17th Century buckle. measuring only 23mm by 17mm. lovely patina which doesn't quite show in pic.
secondly what looks like a Victorian/ Georgian brooch with gold guilt, 30mm diameter. from the thickness of the back it looks like it may have had a stone or cameo set in.....though i bow to better knowledge on this.
