What great finds!  Thank you once again to all for organising.

Kev, I can't believe I didn't see you there today.  :-(

I didn't find much myself but still had an excellent time.

What an amazing rally , working in the Vale and at BAMC,  i have fancied that field for years , no wonder, well done to all the organisers, and a special well done to all those who found something on the day , to the ones who found nought , keep trying.
The four image artefact is going to attract some attention i believe , what an amazing find on an amazing day.
Juat my luck i had to miss it, but theres always next time.
Great photos again Neil

Great write up Neil. looks like you'll need a bigger memory card for your camera if DW return to this place....
Looks like peterh is going to have his work cut out too!
Some of the Roman artifacts that came up were incredible.
and if DW has initiated 2 more people into detecting, in Jeff and Spooner , then it's been a great day. I bet Jeff is going to have some stories to tell when he gets back home to Canada.
If Geoff is thinking of setting up a site over the pond i'll volunteer my services as envoy.......all expenses paid??
Thanks all for making it another DW rally to remember, as always.
already posted my finds ( http://www.detectingwales.com/index.php?topic=11832.msg111896;topicseen#new ) , not sure if you wanted them here or not.

Excellent write-up Neil and congrats to all those who found something. I spent half the day thinking the fields were very quiet and yet some parts very noisy only to finally find out my X-Terra 705 was playing up! One of the bubble-type buttons wasn't working, was stuck down and making the detector unstable. Just found my receipt from Detectnicks and it still in guarantee, phew!  I'll be on the phone to them first thing in the morning!

Excellent rally for all concerned and some brilliant finds.....Oh and a great write up as always Neil. I think the pipe tamper is far too small for that purpose and is probably a "Tudor"  seal to spoon handle. That boars head woman's head whatsit Smiley is intriguing and is very reminiscent of the end of a Roman patera handle and if so a rare find indeed. Well done all Wink
