nice link mal. looking a the site its obviously for wealthy yanks to come over here and do a bit of detecting. but what would happen should the find a hammered coin for example? would they declare it to the proper authorities or put it in their pocket and take it back home?
surely theres more chance of "our heritage" being lost through "foreign detectorists" than through UK ones?
frankly with the ever present ramblings of the Archies in this country trying to stop detecting im surprised they havent tried to ban this "treasure hunting tourism" long ago.
at the weekend wanderers rally last weekend there were people from Gremany, holland, italy and poland at least!
i wonder how many of them that found coins/artifacts left them in the country?
