Title: Caught me a live one.
Post by: Resurgam on May 02, 2015, 10:40:05 PM
Put in two short sessions on the sands. R2D2 still keeps sniffing out the odd coin or two. Managed sixty one p in decimal and a pre-decimal copper penny, plus the usual WWII scrap but didn't realise that I had a live .303 in the bag until some of the crud came off later. Will dispose of the little nasty first thing tomorrow.

Still using the Safari on maximum sensitivity and conductivity settings cross saved. Tired of R2D2 seeing copper shards as being good targets; I am thinking of trying a different beach from Talacre and running the machine on the "gold" settings recommended by Andy Sabisch.

Nice finds Chris I also found a live .303  :o some time back it was slightly rotted so I just broke it in half with pliers and removed the cordite from inside the cartridge case rendering it safe.  ;).

Hi Richie,
couldn't identify it till the crud came off, but will not be tampering with it! It's either going to Mr Plod, or being launched into the Mostyn Deep, just as soon as I am able to get out and about.  :)
