1881 Census entry for Queen Victoria, Windsor Castle
(1/1)
Nick:
I have the 1881 Census entry for Queen Victoria, it makes interesting reading.
I didn't realise it took so many people to look after one person !
If anyone would like a copy (MS Word), PM me.
Nick
Nick:
Sorry, should have read...PM your e-mail address for a copy.

Hi Nick. Obviously you have the 1881 census on the 14 CDs. Do you use the viewer that comes with it or a different package?
Cheers...Jon
Nick:
Hi Jon,
I just use the bog standard viewer that comes with the package.
I remember when the CD's were released someone knocked up a piece of software which would allow you to search by occupation. It cost something like 140 UKP. Very handy if you come from a family of coal miners in South Wales, NOT.

I remember the viewer being available for ludicrous money. Can't remember the programme name though. I did read that the 1901 census has thousands of people with the surname DITTO though. That's what happens when a government sub contracts to the lowest bidder.
