Like a few others on here who have had the misfortune to be stationed with them in the forces, this only confirms what we always knew.........................Brilliant.

Excellent post Neil. Absolutely priceless. Name a country beginning with U and I am shouting United States like he can hear me. As Chef said I happened to be in the Forces with Americans and believe me there eating habits are just as puzzling. Coronation Chicken and Apple Pie and Custard in the same dish. UUUUUUGGGGHHHHH.

Many years ago my 1st Husband arrived home in the early hours with an American couple in tow. He'd offered to put them up for the night. Nice enough pair but next morning I got them cornflakes, gammon, eggs and toms, and toast and marmalade (in a nice little dish) To my horror, they ladlled it onto the gammon Shocked

As you said funny people.

I always found them quite childlike, easily excitable and quite moany when things got hard...I could imagine them in the back of an APC asking "are we there yet?"  Grin Add to this their love of badges (all the way up their arm) and you realise that your dealing with a heavily armed troop of boy scouts.......frightening
