Folks,

My wife was lucky enough to snap a picture of a merlin hawk having a snack on our neighbour's front steps.

That's a great photo Bill.he looks very similar to our Merlin, a lovely bird. I wish there were more of them about.

As I've found over the years, you've just got to be in the right place at the right time.
Beautiful little Hawk, great pic.
I treated myself to a feeding station and also have a length of washing line with one nut feeder and one seed feeder hanging from it (to ward off the tree rats, squirrels) always have a couple of dozen little birds feeding which has attracted a Pair of Sparrow Hawks. The female is unbelievable. She flies in, scares everything off then hops up into the shrubs and quietly waits till the scare is over and then pounces.

. Never fails. The male is not so clever. He often zooms through hoping to catch something on the way. Typical male, no patience !

Thanks for the chuckles.....maybe it's age but I usually wait until the opportune time to pounce....lol.

Nice birds by the way sorry if this is on the wrong page but I have a g2 tecnetics and saw a u tube video and it shows u how to set a new programme it says turn it on to about 12 o clock and keep discrimination on zero and then left hand arrow press it up to 60 and a way to go would u be missing out on good stuff by doing this programme thanks all.
