Great finds. the denarius is a "Tribute Penny" of Tiberius, like this:

Over to the Doc on this one I think. The pin certainly looks Roman but the coin is a little to worn for my eyes Steve. Very nice finds though mate. Well done  Wink

That's interesting, Peter. That link says the coin's issue date was AD 14 - 37. So, does that mean it was made before the Roman conquest and brought over here from the Empire?

A lot of pre-conquest coins turn up in the UK. I don't know if they were still in use or maybe they were kept as souvenirs of an earlier age?
