What a beautiful day today, the sun was shining, the fields were perfect, not sticky at all and the very first signal of the day produced Billy -- [no mates at the time!]. Slow detecting and working a small area thoroughly produced the spoon and buckle, [sounds like a pub!].

Moving onto the next area to search, first signal produced Ed, but which Ed is Ed? and finally as we slowly made our way back to the car out came two Bob, attached to each other. [We are miles away from the nearest fisheries, [unless you consider the grand union canal such a thing!], so i think they are bobs  plums! [sic]

The nicest thing about today is that todays 2 silvers, broke my record of number of hammies in a year. [Dylan/Val - This years total now stands at 30   Grin Grin].

A lovely days detecting and we do it all again tomorrow!

cheers

ps - oh, and  a roman grot as well!

Well, until I saw that little bit at the end I was going to commend you on your detecting skills and congratulate you on your days finds.   BUT.................on second thoughts I think I might put you in the cupboard with Celtic.   30 that's indecent. You can go off people you know.

Seriously though Al that is a good days detecting, well done. Grin
Could be there was a fisherman lived nearby or maybe someone was practicing fly fishing in the dry. That's a beautiful snake buckle, like it.

I think, next year, Dylan and I will have to get our heads together and think of a way to overcome our deficiencies. Wink

lol Val,

thanks for all the comments guys n gals. The eddie has now been identified as that of Edward 1st, london mint. The clue apparently was in the letter S which looks as if theres a bulge in the middle section of the S. This apparently ID's it as Edward 1st. .....

cheers
