Post by: Chainsaw Bampy on May 28, 2015, 09:07:18 AM
does anyone know if there is a target indicator for the minelab sov elite the type with led display that lights up different series of lights to indicate different targets in different colours?

There was a meter made several years back called the Patriot which used lights rather than numbers, it was made in the States and was around £250 as far as I remember needless to say it wasn't that popular at that price and they stopped making them but no meter, either that one or the Minelab, is as good as target id as the tones ;)

i have a viking vk20 as back up,i know lotta people don,t like them, its not too bad, anyway its got target id and i find its easier to pinpoint using it,so was thinking of getting one for the sov to use in the same way, can pinpoint with the sov sometimes bang on other times seem to  be way off, maybe i will get the hang of it one day,by the way i made another sand scoop but had trouble putting pics up can load them on computer fine then computer plays up everytime i attempt to attach to post,i will have another go later, i have to get it looked at,thanks for all the advice.

I always found the Sov one of the best machines for pinpointing but the trick is the "Sovereign wiggle" and no it's not a dance it's just a matter of reducing the swing down to just a small wiggle while still getting a signal ;)

i do the forward/n back motion and side to side motion as if making a cross, works dead on sometimes, other times i way off, i shall try your suggestion of the wiggle next time out. thanks geoff.
