Hi Kev
I know what you mean mate
I think any biker can name a few good friends that are no longer with us

I remember in the 80,s i was drinking with a good friend and his girlfriend in the Knights Arms Porthcawl.
He left 3 or 4 hours before me
He was killed outright on the Laleston roundabout the girl on the back used to work for my sister in law, lost her head on a road sign ;0(

I think most human,s need the buzz of "getting away with it"
My Dad  (God rest his soul) and my 2 older brothers are into bikes so its been im my blood longer than i can remember.

Touch wood Ive never had a serious crash only when i was racing Motox and Enduro.
but my Wife and family know if i die on a bike I,ll die doing something i love
and i think that go,s for all lifestyle bikers

Regards
Phil (living by the grace of God) Jones lol

Hi Karl

Its funny on the Gun forum were are on
80% are into bikes.
Whats the link between Bikers and Guns  ?? lol

Ive found that a lot of Detectorists are also into fishing
i think its the "not knowning what your going to catch/find" is the buzz

hay phil.
your friend who died mate.
i was in my garden when it happened.i phoned the ambulance.
was.nt a pretty site.i was only about 20 foot away from the crash.it shook me right up.
the bike landed about 10 foot from me.i thought it was going to come in through my garden fence.i ran off my garden deck convinced the bike was gonna come through my garden fence.
the policemen new id seen it and questioned me.at about 10.o.clock in the evening
they blaimed the red car..but phil..the bike was over takeing the red car.and hit the lorry.
the guy in the red car should have stopped yes.and thats where he went wrong.
werst thing id ever seen i think.
apart from my llantrisant common experience.

strange thing is Phil my mate who's in the wheel chair says if he could turn back the clock, not have the accident but that would mean he never rode a bike he wouldn't !!
THAT'S CRAZY in my opinion:-
he lost his legs and hands. he lost his wife. he now only sees his kids every other weekend. but he still wouldn't take back his years on a bike....i respect his opinion but i think the blow to his head has left other after effects  Roll Eyes

I've been on them since i was 13, i couldn't comprehend not having a bike, it just gets in your blood, its the only hobby, if you can call it that, i take seriously, you have to you can die if you don't Shocked Detecting is just a bit of fun, i enjoy it tremendously, but i feel the minute detecting becomes more than "just a bit of fun" its time to move on.
Any way Bike wise i'm down to just two at the moment (not including the 3 the kids have, two 90 and a 50 CC two stroke (all good for 60MPH Shocked ) and their quad.... Yes i spoil them.

Bikers are a strange lot !
My mate Mike Smith from Pentre Rhondda got t-boned coming out of a junction 2 years ago after picking his next bike at Wayne Bowens Bike shop

He had massive damage to his leg and ribs but when he could stand upright he bought an Hayabusa trike but he didnt like it so he bought a cruiser but he cant put any wieght on his damaged leg.

I think the only thing that would stop me riding a Bike or trike would be if i went blind  lol

Hi Deb

This in my DT 175mx back in 1987 I bought in off a guy who had it in a the back of his shed in boxes
I got it running and looking nice but i couldnt get it to run smoothly
Few weeks later i had it stolen ;0(
Well it must have got sold on a few times because months later a boy rode it through my street.
I jumped on my GT750, caught up with him and made him ride the bike back to my house.
After me and my g/f locked him in my house for questioning it turned out it have been sold 4 times and he had no idea it was my bike.
He was sobbing and crying so i let him go,
But on the way out he said .......so whos going to give me my Fecking £50 back !  Shocked
He was very lucky i didnt catch him after that little comment lol
I took the DT out for a spin after that
and someone had got it running lovely and they fitted Upside down forks off a Yz  Grin Grin Grin Grin
and before anyone asks I wasnt pregnant in the picture  lol
