Title: A Sunny Day Out Post by: rjm on March 23, 2011, 04:29:44 PM The sun was shining and I was in the mood for some coin shooting so over 3.5 hours I had 100 good targets and a good couple of dozen rubbish signals. Besides 2 x £1 coins, a pile of 2p pieces I had quite a few Victorian coins plus Edward pennies. Out popped an 1897 silver Half Dollar, a silver 3d, and a silver sixpence, plus Scooby Doo hair clip! ;D I'm chuffed with the silver half dollar as you don't find many of that date! Title: Re: A Sunny Day Out Post by: rjm on March 25, 2011, 05:48:56 PM The coin that I thought was a silver sixpence turned out, after cleaning and research, to be a 1900 silver 50 centimes French coin. Quite worn and I'm proud I was able to ID it without Peter the Pie's help !!! ;) I was pretty whacked after 2 hours but kept on. Great exercise.
