Wow, thanks for the info Monco. New it was Portuguese but that's as far as it went, how on earth did it end up in a cotswold field ?

Due to me being in Portugal these coins stand out...
It is not the first on eI have seen you guys find.. Funny, if it was silver or gold, the precious metal value is understandable, but a commun copper which initially had little value and shows no signs of countermarkings or anything of the sort...

It makes one wonder....
