Title: Lead Figure Post by: celticspikey on March 10, 2018, 12:20:38 PM Found this on my medieval field last week. It's only 2.5 cm high, looks to be a lady carrying a basket, its cast and hollow.
Over to you age wise......? Title: Re: Lead Figure Post by: Val Beechey on March 11, 2018, 09:55:17 AM After finding half a ‘Roman’ figure that turned out to be a 1930’s ‘flapper’ I’m not one to rely on. So, all i’ll Say is, I ain’t got a clue!
Unusual though. Not often you find statues of little, fat ladies. Only ones I’ve seen are ancient. The Mother Godess and the like and I don’t think yours is that old. Like most of us old ladies she must have meant something to someone ;D ::) Title: Re: Lead Figure Post by: Greg on March 11, 2018, 10:51:23 AM I agree Val very difficult to tell, but I also think it’s post medieval, possibly a flower seller or even cockles and mussels, Victorian or Edwardian?
