found this today is quite big but hold is it and what was it used for it has a hole through the middle .

Very difficult to give a date or a precise ID for lead artefacts such as this.

As the "Doc" says, hard to be precise but could be a roughly finished lead biconical steelyard weight with the hole through it to hold an iron suspension loop  Huh
They do turn up regularly from the Roman period but this one doesn`t look "Roman"  Wink
