I’ve been busy uploading many of my finds onto a online picture site called My Net Image, it’s a useful storage site to store photographs of your finds on, and it has the added advantage of recording a date when the image was uploaded. This I feel is useful , because I feel sometime in the future more anarchic rules will be laid down on our hobby by the Treasure Act . They are already trying to widen the definition of Treasure to include roman base metal deposits and single gold coins from Roman to early Saxon period. It won’t be too long I feel before other items are included, in there quest to take anything we find. At least if they are recorded and date stamped, they cannot confiscate them sometime in the future, when new laws are past.
There are other finds data bases around, but they then control your image and you cannot delete it once it is up, with ‘my net image’ you are in control. Just a thought.
